Hi! My name is Simone Fisher and I am the person behind Simone Quilts!
By day, I work at a local aerospace company in Cedar Rapids, IA. I love my job and it satisfies the very detail oriented and research loving side of me.
Most evenings and weekends you can find me in my sewing room, listening to podcasts while sewing a fun new quilt. This is my happy place and where I feel most at home.
I am mostly known for my use of color in modern quilts and for meticulously designing a quilt from how it will be used, to piecing, to color, to quilting.
People often refer to me as a perfectionist because I love to think of every aspect of whatever it is I am doing. I go into research mode and find every bit of information before I actually try it.
And then I love to write blog posts about what I have found so I can share it all with you!
I love serving the world by sharing my creative process and encouraging new quilters to find their voice and confidently pursue this passion!
Every one of us has a unique story to tell, and I love seeing it told in a creative way.
The things I am most passionate about in life are my family, going on roadtrips, and traveling abroad. My family consists of my wonderful husband Scott (you can find some of his tutorials for handy things in the blog area), my dog Shiloh (she's a mama's girl), and our three cats, Puma, Tigre, and Panther (they love to lay on all my quilts at any stage!). Scott and I often like to visit the historical Amana Colonies and roadtrip around Iowa every summer to visit different quilt and furniture shops.
When I am not busy quilting you can find me on the couch surrounded by my dog and cats, reading a good book or watching a show while hand sewing. This is my all time favorite!
